The cliche ‘Flying Scotsman’ has no doubt been overused in the motorsport context but our use of ‘Flyer’ in the title of a spectacular DVD featuring a very fast Scot has other reasoning behind it this time. The programme features the fastest on-bike camera lap yet recorded (up until the 1991 TT anyway) – in this case Steve Hislop at over 120 mph average riding his Honda Britain RC30 V-Four during practice for the 1990 F1 TT. This is the first time that such a viewpoint has been obtained at racing speeds and boy does it show some activity at the front end! Yes we think ‘TT Flyer’ is an apt description for this unique DVD.

1997 was an amazing year for the Bee Gees with inductions into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame plus Lifetime Achievement Awards from the Brit American and World Music Awards the Australian Record Industry and the German Bambi Awards. All this was topped off by a ‘One Night Only’ concert at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas their only live concert in 1997 and their first in the US for 10 years. The brothers Gibb perform their greatest hits from the 60’s 70’s 80’s and 90’s including many songs written for and made hits by other artists but never recorded by the Bee Gees themselves including: ‘Islands In The Stream’ ‘Guilty’ ‘Heartbreaker’ ‘Our Love (Don’t Throw It All Away)’ (a special tribute to their late brother Andy Gibb) and ‘Immortality’ featuring a guest appearance by multiple Grammy-award winner Celine Dion.
